Players and Parents: F.Y.I. - The concession stand will be open during the showcase - basic concession stuff-hot dogs, chips, etc. With 100+ kids and parents it will probably be somewhat a slow go at the stand. You will be about 10 mins. away from Owasso which has many fast food places. You might want to also stuff an ice chest out in your car.

SHOWCASE PROCEDURE: IF YOUR LISTED BELOW - YOU ARE REGISTERED. On Sat. morning you must check in and get your showcase I.D. #. If you show up late find one of us and check in. The 60yd dash will begin at 9:00 a.m. Group 300 runs first, then 400, 300 and postion playing 100....pitcher only kids don't need to run. Next in order...Infielders evaluations, Outfielders evaluations, Hitting, Pitchers evaluations, Catcher evaluations. Subject to change due to weather, etc.

The Fort Scott Community College Baseball Program will be hosting their 8th Annual Midwest High School Baseball Showcase on Saturday October 23rd starting at 1pm with check-in starting at 12pm. As in years past, we will have some of the top talent from Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Iowa.
Preregistration is preferred which is available on our website (http://www.fortscott.edu/athletics/baseball/index.aspx) under the Tournaments, Showcases and Camps link but walkups are always welcome. We will be providing all who attend our showcase with an evaluation form containing all of vital recruiting info (arm speed, 60yd time and fielding evaluation) which participants can hand out to all schools that they may have an interest in.

* The Tulsa sub-regional NTIS event will be held a the O'Brien Field Complex in Tulsa, OK on July 19-20, 2010.
* Evaluations will be completed by pro scouts, college coaches and former professional players. A skills evaluation report will be provided following the event.
* After the games, the evaluators and coaches will meet to select the top 20 players to to invite to the St. Louis NTIS event to be held on August 13-15. In St. Louis, the players will compete against other top players selected from the Kansas City and St. Louis sub-regionals.

2009 SHOWCASE IN THE BOOKS...
The 5th Annual O'Brien Park/Sooner Collegiate League "Senior" Showcase welcomed 150 high school college prospects, 25+ college coaches and 4 MLB scouts. Over 600 kids have now participated in this showcase. As always special THANKS to our volunteers who make this run smoothly as possible. Thanks to all the scouts, kids and parents especially those who made long drives (one Tex. kid even flew in). We ended up with a great 80 degree windy day. The day started with 60yd. dash at 9:10 a.m. and the showcase ended with the last hitter at 3:10 p.m. Check our tournament link as we have several high school age and youth age tournaments and World Series offered for 2010 with play at some of this area's nicest h.s. and youth fields. 143 ATTEND 2008 OBRIEN SENIOR SHOWCASE !
143 hopeful athletes attended the 2008 O'Brien Sooner Collegiate League "Senior" Showcase. This was the biggest showcase yet and pushes the 4yr. total of showcase participants to over 470 ! Thanks to our GREAT voulunteers - Dow Bushyhead, Robert Hickman, Kelly Gaul, Junior Blevins, Mike Moore, Spence Rigdon, David WIlson and C.J. Medlin. They help make this showcase run smoothly and efficiantly. It started at 9:05 a.m. with the 60's and ended at 3:12 p.m. with the last hitter. Thanks as always to those players, parents and coaches who made the long drive from Texas, Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri. Several players caught the interest of the coaches as this was an overall talented pool of kids. Check our tournament link as we have several high school age tournaments and World Series offered for 2009 with play at some of this area's nicest h.s. fields.

We will again put together a high school JUNIOR & SENIOR all star team for the 2009 Brett Brother Wood Bat Invitational Tournament. It is held during the NCAA College World Series in Omaha, NE. The 2006 Obrien team won the tournament going 5-0. The 2007 team had both the eventual 1st and 2nd place teams in their pool, losing to both well finaced and established travel teams by a hair lash, going extra innings against the 1st place team and losing by one to the 2nd place team. The 19 and under wood bat World Series July 9th-12th 2009 Thursday thru Sunday and a 16 and under Wood Bat World Series June 18th - 21st, 2009 Thursday thru Sunday. The tournaments will be a 4 game guarantee. The 19yr. tournament will be played at Collinsville High School and at O'Brien Park. The 16yr. will also be played at Collinsville, a beautiful high school field (2007 Oklahoma H.S. field of the year) and also at O'Brien. O'Brien Park boasts 2 of the best county owned side by side high school fields in the state. The entry fee will be $695.00 which includes gate fee . Team must have proof of current insurance. The tournament will be played on regulation high school fields. Brett Bros will supply 2 bats per team. O'Brien Park will be the main host site of the tournaments. College and pro scouts will be invited from the midwest states.

A general player list will be compiled and the final roster chosen. Roster will only be 10-12 kids. A $100.00 non-refundable deposit will be required of those picked for the team to secure their roster spot and each selected player/family will be responsible for hotel room, travel, etc. This wil be used to pay the $695.00 entry fee, baseballs, shirts - there is NO GATE CHARGED at the tournament.There is plenty to do in this area for parents as well. This is a good, fun, and reasonable opportunity for the serious and talented juniors and seniors to play some good competition, go to some NCAA College World Series games and be possibly seen by college coaches. No one is making any money off this-we've just been asked to field a good team of players each year by the host tournament and think it will be good for those who participate. *3RD ANNUAL 2007 OBRIEN PARK / SOONER COLLEGIATE LEAGUE HIGH SCHOOL "SENIORS" SHOWCASE.* NOV. 3, 2007.

The 2007 showcase was another well attended event by players, colleges and pro scouts. Thanks to all of you coaches and athletes who made long drives. We had kids, coaches and scouts from Texas, Kansas, Arkansas and far away Oklahoma towns as well- wow! Our volunteers did another outstanding job of keeping things moving along as quick as possible with over 100 kids. In addition to the colleges listed pre-showcase, coaches from Connors, Texarkana, North Central Texas, & Barton County also attended. In addition MLB scouts from the Texas Rangers, Atlanta Braves, New York Mets, Chicago Whitesox, St. Louis Cardinals and New York Yankees were present. A big thanks to all of these college coaches & scouts for taking the time to give back to the game and help us give these kids a look. There were many talented kids giving it their best and we saw some contact made at the showcase and are getting feedback that some have recieved phone calls already. Many others attending will be contacted in the days and months to come so all you athletes work hard this winter, keep your grades in order, get your SAT/ACT done and hope you have a great 2008 spring season.
